What is Quantum Technology?

Quantum technology is a new interdisciplinary field combining quantum physics and information science.
Its physical foundation is quantum mechanics, which was discovered and studied in the 1920s by scientists including Albert Einstein.
In 2022, the Nobel Prize in Physics was awarded to Alain Aspect, John Clauser, and Anton Zeilinger for their experiments with entangled photons, establishing the violation of Bell’s inequalities and pioneering quantum information science.
Since its emergence, quantum technology has been applied in communication networks, military, medical, financial, chip manufacturing, and high-tech industries, becoming one of the most important technological advances—alongside AI and satellite communications—in the 20th century.
